WHAT IS COACHING?

The ICF (International Coaching Federation) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

I received my training though Coach Training World, who defines coaching in the following way:

Coaching honors the client as the expert in his/her life and believes that every client is creative, resourceful and whole.  The coach's responsibility is to:

- Discovery, clarify and align with what the client wants to achieve;

- Encourage client self-discovery;

- Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies; and

- Hold the client accountable and responsible.

The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources and creativity the client already has.

IS COACHING FOR ME?

We all experience times in our lives when we need a little extra support, a sounding board, assistance staying on track (or finding the track), or a little push to keep us moving forward. Coaching is ideal for these situations.

Everyone can benefit from having an ongoing, unbiased source for encouragement, motivation, and inspiration.

HOW CAN A COACH HELP ME?

As a coach, I strive to help my clients find happiness and live up to to their potential by maximizing their inherent strengths and talents.  Clients get clear on their passions and values and we work together to ensure time and energy is spent on activities that that align with the client's values and motivation.

 - Coaching can help maximize your use of time to get you to your goals more quickly.  Find out where your time is going and pinpoint the tasks that can be eliminated or delegated to someone else.  We'll develop a clear path to your goal and work together to keep you motivated and on track, avoiding the distractions and diversions life throws in your way.

CAN I BOOK AN INTRODUCTORY SESSION?

Yes, 30 minute introductory sessions are available at no charge to answer general questions about the coaching process, what to expect, package options, and pricing.
Discovery Sessions are available to try out the coaching experience without investing in a full coaching package.  Please see the Coaching Services page for details.

WHERE DO COACHING SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?

The coach and client will work together to determine the best location for each coaching session. 
AJM Coaching is located in downtown Pittsburgh, PA.  Travel up to 45 minutes round-trip is included in the cost of the session.  Travel time longer than 45 minutes will be billed to the client at the session hourly rate prorated to the additional time spent.
Remote, web-based coaching sessions are also available through Zoom.
Telephonic sessions are available as necesary, but not preferred.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY COACHING SESSION?

At least 24 hour cancellation notice is required for a full-refund or rescheduling of the sessions.
Clients cancelling less than 24 hours from the session start time will be charged 50% of the hourly session rate.
Clients not showing for their scheduled session without prior notification will be charged the full cost of the session.
